Say if you were to somehow combine the process of breathing and powering the battery of USB gadgets. Then breathing would become exiting and perhaps even more useful. The smart people at Instructables have devised a neat way to generate power as your lungs do their thing.
The key is to tap the potential energy generated by your diaphragm using some scrap from a CD-ROM, a simple circuit and a few rubber bands. Tie these all around your chest and you are a lean, mean powerhouse. Each breath you take then moves the wheels of the CD-ROM, which in turn stores power to charge USB devices. The level of power that this arrangement can generate is a bit on the low side, unless of course you are ready to jog that extra mile.
