HP Slate specs, price and video, they are doing it better than the iPad

HP Slate is picked as a competing alternative for the Apple iPad. It was expected that HP wouldn’t sit ideal and let Apple run away with the tablet market share. Though, they don’t have the Slate ready for sale, thus they have poked the consumers by floating some specs, its pricing and a video to give a glimpse into the Windows 7 based tablet, its UI et al.

Besides the little things we know from its initial announcement, the HP Slate draws power from a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor has a lovely 8.9-inch 1024x600 capacitive multitouch display. With 1GB RAM, Intel UMA graphics good for 1080p playback, the Slate unlike the iPad has an SD card slot, SIM card tray for optional WWAN, USB 2.0 port, and to our surprise an inward-facing VGA webcam and an outward-facing 3MP camera. Weighing almost at par with the Wi-Fi iPad, the Slate will be priced at about $549 for the base 32GB flash memory storage version, and about $599 for the better 64GB version. Hit the jump to see what all the Slate is capable of.
