HP rolls out fully-loaded Slate 500 Tablet PC with Windows 7

If y’all remember, Hewlett-Packard at the Consumer Electronics Show held this January promised the Windows 7 slate. The good news is that the company has kept its promise and has launched it on Monday. Aimed at corporate consumers, the HP Slate 500 Tablet PC with Windows 7 weighs a mere 1.5 pounds and has an 8.9-inch multi-touch display with two cameras. Also, it has 8.9-inch LED-backlit display and it sports a 1,024x600-pixel resolution. With Windows 7 Professional pre-installed, 1.86GHz Intel Atom Z540 processor and a 64GB solid-state drive, the Tablet PC promises the best performance among its peer group.

In addition to the cool features listed above, this new product from HP comes with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500, a combination stereo headphone-microphone jack, video graphics array, front-facing webcam, 3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth connectivity and 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity. Consumers can expect the price to be somewhere around $800 to $900.
