HP rolls out a Wi-Fi mouse with nine-month battery life

Hewlett–Packard uncovers a special Wi-Fi mouse that can be connected with the computer using Wi-Fi. The new mouse will provide more longevity than Bluetooth or wireless mice, the company claims. By design, HP Wi-Fi mouse is like any computer mouse, however. It exactly looks like a traditional wired mouse. But the difference is that it doesn’t need any misplaced USB dongle to establish connection with a PC. The mouse, remarkably, comes with a nine-month battery life.

The HP Wi-Fi wireless mouse will be a great advantage for often-travelling computer users. In fact, such users may understand the value of a spare USB port on their laptop. That is why the Wi-Fi mouse will be a huge relief for them. Connecting the Wi-Fi mouse with a computer is a simple process. It can be done in a few seconds, indeed.

The Wi-Fi mouse offers signal strength for a distance of 30 feet like most of Bluetooth mice available in the market. Other than the Wi-Fi factor, HP Wi-Fi mouse offers nothing new at all. It is like all other computer mice in form and features. The ambidextrous mouse features 1200 to 1600dpi resolution, five customizable buttons and a four-way tilt scroll wheel.

Nevertheless, there are a few shortcomings with the HP Wi-Fi mouse. Most prominently, the mouse will only work with a computer that runs Microsoft Windows 7. The device is designed to work with a Windows 7-certified wireless adapter, which is only available with Windows 7. The video below shows how the HP Wi-Fi mouse functions.
