The electrically powered GT mountain bike constructed by Eric Peltzer is not the run of the mill. The fun-packed environment friendly bike will force you to shun your car, at least for short trips, and captivate you by bringing down the serene mountain beauty sans any pedaling. Moreover, it can prove magical for the old.
You too can turn your bike into a silent and effortless cruiser by adding a 1HP motor to it. Yes, you need to hook on to a powerful motor to conquer the hills; on plains you can settle down with a smaller one. The only tricky part of the project is to reduce the massive speed of the motor, that’s too fast for a mountain bike. Eric Peltzer deftly applied the speed reduction technique and brought down the whopping 3000 rpm of the motor to 265 rpm.
