How to squeeze a PC into a mini briefcase - a DIY activity

Posted By: Vineet Chauhan | Aug 6 2009

Since the whole world is going compact, a user at TBCS demonstrates how you can shrink a PC to fit in a mini briefcase, maintaining the whole compaction thing. The guy fitted an Axiomtek SBC84810 embedded motherboard ( which has an onboard Celeron-M ULV 1GHz and 1GB of DDR333, running at 266MHz), inside a small aluminum briefcase hardly bigger than it. The mini system boots Windows XP from a 16GB Compact Flash Card.

The mini briefcase PC houses a SATA, VGA, USB, 10/100 Ethernet and a hidden PS/2 port onboard. It also supports a USB keyboard and mouse. To power up this mini creation he used a Pico PSU connected to a power cable by Axiomtek. There is a large heat sink and a mini-fan, should the drives get hot. Roentgen hard drive activity gauge is an added bonus. For complete details visit TheBestCaseScenario. More pics after the break.
