Better awareness guarantees better safety; we know this. Given the number of road accidents we hear of today, society needs technology to help ensure its safety. Nothing requires a long wait nowadays; And now Honda has it before we realize – a Vehicle-to-Vehicle GPS system, which assures awareness and safety to motorcyclists – the most vulnerable on the roads. Revealed at the CAR 2 CAR Communication Consortium event in Germany, the system aggregates data on the motorcyclists’ navigation device, informing them in advance on the direction, speed and distance of other vehicles nearby.

What’s Innovative:

Human perception is perhaps the biggest reason for road accidents. Honda’s GPS system aspires to make obvious the potential risks ahead, warning the exposed riders and providing them with audible instructions of the peril through Bluetooth to the built-in speakers in the helmet, possibly reducing human error.

Watch this:

Most road accidents are caused by the other driver’s slip-ups, we know. Therefore, no matter how safe you are on the road, a bad day will have you in a glitch. But if you were evident of the risk up-front, the possibilities could minimize. So we believe Honda’s safety system may well answer the questions of road safety, reducing the number of reasons that frighten all drivers.
