Everybody (hopefully) knows that 3D processors will be the future of computing. For those who don’t, 3D processors are processors made by stacking components one top of the other. 3D processors are touted to be much faster than current processors. Latest news regarding 3D processors is that Honda is ready with its new 3D chip, which has been designed to power Company’s humanoid robot Asimo. Honda’s research team has used 3 different chips to create a 3D prototype that consists of a processing unit, signal converter and some memory. These three chips are connected by set of spikes that passes through all chips and connects them electrically. This processor is supposed to be twice as powerful as current processors and is also more energy efficient.
