‘Do-it-yourself’ designs are a fad in the technology empowered generation of today. Undoubtedly, Cyril Maxibuko has graduated from this school of thought! Ingenuity is his forte and it is best evidenced from Cyril’s homemade paraglider.
The amazing story of Cyril’s innovation started with a glider he made with plastic bags, purloined rope and baling wire. Surprisingly, this simple concept had taken wings and caught the fancy of professional paragliders, not without the customary apprehensions, though!
How did Cyril come about it
Cyril had constructed the glider by sewing plastic bread bags together for the wing and the lines comprised of orange-bag strings. However, this wasn’t enough to fly a person. So, Cyril and his friends raided a farm (for the sake of technological evolution!) to collect fertilizer bags, rope and baling wire. After several failed attempts, Cyril succeeded in building a paraglider that could fly a human weighing up to 45 kgs. So, buck up and get started with your own homemade concept. You never know, it could be your claim to fame.
