Handheld Hologram devices are said to appear on handsets by the year 2010. With over 8.1 million units foreseen by the year 2010, this is an achievement for the books. Think back 20 years when there was almost no such thing as a personal home computer. Now we have devices that can project objects in 3-D and movies that are amazing quality. This compact device would allow teachers, on scene investigators and other specialists to access information from their office in 3-D and send images in 3-D. To go into more detail about how this device works, we will look into how it captures the images and then sends them. The onboard processor on the Inforsys machine would construct a multitude of 2-D shots taken from something like a digital camera, then turn it into 3-D holograms by using Fourier transform to calculate the third dimension.

An Infosys rep had this to say about the product,

Holographic handsets have the capability of enriching the user experience with an actual 3D experience and higher-quality images. This gives users a more realistic experience in areas like gaming, medicine, movies etc.

Yes, and this item will also assist in job professions to give more accurate representations where words cannot explain.
