Holodust is ‘a swept-volume volumetric display, where the volume is a stochastic distribution of dust-like particles.’

Jeff Han, the brain behind the concept, rapidly sweeps infrared laser throughout the display space to create the effect. It is a ‘true open-air volumetric display’ where ultra-fast 3D particle position tracking takes place with lateral-effect photodiodes. The Holodust is equipped with high-speed position-sensing photodetectors that captures the light scattered by laser as it encounter any dust particles.
