HMS Victory’s meticulously detailed scale model revives memories of Battle of Trafalgar

For Ian Brennan sculpting the replica of HMS Victory was more than just pursuing his vocation. He was actually trying to recreate a historic scene whence the real warship sailed full for the battle of Trafalgar and triumph over the French and Spanish fleets in 1805. Taking 17 long years to replicate the event Ian has finally accomplished the task to present meticulously detailed scale model using timber from the actual HMS victory.

The 47 inch model contains 200ft of intricate ‘rope’, 104 miniature guns, 37 little wind-filled sails, and flags spelling out Admiral Lord Nelson’s stirring signal ‘England expects every man to do his duty.’ In fact Ian has ensured that the replica’s sail configurations along with the number of guns and rowing boats and rigging match the one on the original.
