Hitachi has joined hands with Toshiba to give display technology a new guise with its latest TFT-LCD display technology concept — called ‘System-on-Glass’ — that uses light emitting pens for inputs.
The ‘System-on-Glass’ is being displayed at the Display Expo 2006? in Japan and will be rolled into a reality later this year. The display screen reads the light emitted by the pen, which though requires a constant power source, and will hopefully make tasks much easier that the stylus but I doubt it can beat the touch screens concept where you don’t have to hold on anything.
