Things are rapidly changing with time and development of new technologies. One unnamed consumer electronics company will release the Loop, a ring-shaped remote control. The device is based on a loop technology developed by Hillcrest Labs. It consists of two parts: a ring-shaped remote with two buttons and a scroll-wheel, and software that turns reams of TV listings into thumbnail menus.

The remote will allow you to navigate by pointing at icons on the TV screen, rather than by scrolling and clicking through listings. This is a much small and easier procedure to explore different channels. The device is incorporated with sensors, which transfer and relate the movement of your hand with the cursor.

The device will set a new definition of remote controls and the design will become very common in communing future. It has already attracted funding from big firms. Certain other developments in the same field have been made for example one of the chief features of Nintendo's Wii game console is a handheld controller that you point at the screen to control the cursor. Meanwhile, GeoVector has come up with a software application for cell phones that lets people point their phone at a building to determine the name of the building, the tenants and other information.
