High prices amputating High-Tech Limbs!
Now, what's the use of technology when it can reach people who actually need them? O.K., you'd say who don't need an iPod or a Ferrari, but we can go without them. Isn't it? But what about technology that's specifically designed for a group and is deliberately kept beyond their range due to high price tags. Take for example, hi-tech prostheses.

I agree that the price tag has to cover the manufacturing and research costs but are they really designed to be dumped?
Of course not, but where is the solution? Around 1.28 million U.S. citizens and millions of others in other countries may not even aware of the latest microprocessor knees that costs around $50,000 and arms about $100,000. Even health insurers are not inclined to pay for it.
The insurers must come out with a solution coupled with efforts of the government to melt down the rust off the prostheses.
