Sony’s new Home Entertainment server comes with 500GB and a 200-multi-disc changer

Sony has unveiled what they are calling an innovative solution for organizing collections of digital movies, music and photos in a stand-alone device - the HES-V1000 Home Entertainment Server.

1) 500GB hard drive ( can store up to 137 hours of video, 40,000 songs or 20,000 digital photos)

2) Full HD 1080p

3) 200-disc changer that can handle Blu-ray discs, DVDs and CDs.

5) x-Scrap Book photo slide ( for customized photo presentation)

6) Memory Stick media inputs

7) Secure Digital cards

8) Compact Flash media and xD-Picture Card flash memory readers

“With its extraordinary storage capacity, the HES-V1000 unit is the perfect device to store and share personal digital content, such as high-definition home movies and photos,” said Christopher Fawcett, vice president of home video marketing for Sony Electronics.

It can also stream music to devices like the playstation 3. The system can register up to ten devices with four independent audio streams.

Price

The price of the product quoted by Sony is $3,500 and is expected in October. It will be offered direct at sonystyle.com and at Sony Style retail stores nationwide, as well as at military base exchanges and authorized dealers around the country.
