It’s beyond me to muster out sensible beats from a drum set, but here is 9 Soundware with their novel instrument in EXS24 format to create a set of sounds using human heartbeats. Yes, you heard that right; the new software combines real human heartbeat recordings to generate a drum-like punch.

The heartbeats are captured via an electronic stethoscope, in 19 levels of velocity across 8 octave range, and based on the 224 samples these recordings are converted to mimic the kick drum sound and other percussion instruments. Apart from the heartbeats the sounds have also been gathered from the abdomen. 24 MB download costing $29.99 is available with 1 .EXS file and 402 WAV files.
