Apple has unveiled AstraZeneca’s Heart FXPod, which aims to help the doctors physiologically feel what their patients are undergoing. The 53 feet long mobile van has 5 virtual reality stations that help doctors receive complex multimedia demonstration and feedback. It allows doctors to feel the fatigue, heart rate, shortness of breath etc felt by patients suffering from cardiac disease and Congestive Heart Failure. When a patient walks or jogs and he starts to feel tired, physicians who would be pedaling a device would find it difficult to do. In fact, they experience shortness of breath themselves and the audio system built into the chair allows them to hear and ‘feel’ the heartbeats of their patients. This might help them to judge the condition of the patients and help in the prognosis at a later stage.
