Healing the hearing impaired via anchored microprocessor
Did you hear that? A new technology, from Cochlear, will assist people with hearing impairments, to listen to everything going around distinctly, while eliminating all the stray noise. Yes, you heard me right! This system impedes the background noise or stray mobile frequencies, giving users up to 25 percent enhanced hearing ability, all courtesy of a stamp-sized microprocessor that sits behind the ear.

Titanium screws are drilled into the bone (behind the ear), which are used to hold the microprocessor in its place. Besides the aiding effects, it has its other leveraging benefits also: it attaches directly to MP3 music players and wireless headsets, relieving patients from ever picking up the phone (it's not a Bluetooth device!). The cost of these implants is $6000 for each ear. These implants will last for 15 years, provided you don't wear them while swimming or give them a hot bath.
