Have you ever been hit by Blu-ray disc rot?

A blu-ray disc rot? I can't believe it but it's true as a thread over at the AVS Forums has a discussion going on over a possible problem with the coating of Blu-ray discs. A member of the AVS Forums named Venom5 reported of the problem firslty and posted some pictures of the blu-ray disc, which he was not able to play on the PS3. he says that the problem is happening below the top surface layer. The people at the thread are labeling it as 'disc rot" owing to the mould-like spots that made the Blu-ray discs unreadable. Many forum members are reporting for the same problem and have mentioned about the spots are not playable on Blu-ray versions of "The Prestige." Many members are quite happy with their discs and are not facing any sort of problems. But now, when the problem has been discovered, we might see a product recall in the coming time. The nine page thread shows complaints from nearly a dozen of the forum members.
