This is indeed the age of the hybrids, but I never thought that that phenomenon would be extended to the music world in regards to its own instruments. We have seen the mixing and mashing of different styles of music at various points, but this is essentially an inter-breeding of sorts of the instruments involved. The Harpejji is an instrument that is probably the result of Jewel’s guitar meeting Elton’s Piano. Oh wait... No.. Elton is... Okay, let’s not go there. The point being that the Harpejji is a mixture of the too and it looks really, really cool.
You play it by tapping the 24 strings on the 24 frets. It was invented by math professor Jorn Starret as the StarrBoard, but is now being produced by Marcodi Musical Instruments in Maryland, for $5,995 in various finishes. Yes, the strange thing costs you a fortune and that might be one of the reasons why someone is not interested in it. Otherwise it is a nice little combination and would surely require one hell of a skill to hit the right note.
