Computer simulation is already being tamed to mimic human brain. It may be long, but not eternity of course, before we have computer generated human acts and images (as we already see) expressed in real-world dynamics. Simulating sound was a predicament until, but with researchers from the Cornell University working out a Harmonic Fluids algorithm, system to simulate the sound of water, produced by bubbles and plops of flowing and dripping water, we see sound simulation a stride closer to mimicking the real.
To the most that can be figured out form those complicating and elaborated statements from the scientists - using the Harmonic Fluids algorithm based on the 3-dimensional view, scientists calculate where the air bubbles or a plop or a splash would have been formed in a particular flow of water, and how each would have behaved in real-life dynamics and then create sounds identical to how it would have made. So, I think we have new sound effects awaiting the forthcoming games, and do we hear Hollywood calling too? (video after the jump).
