Ever since I am writing about gadgets, what interests me most is gadgets that had garbage or waste as their building material. Hoping to create something similar, I had started collecting everything that deserved to be thrown away.

Among my collection, I had an old hard drive that had been gathering dust in my room.

Now it had replaced my routine wall clock. All what I needed to turn it into a full functioning clock, was some common electronic components like, 50hz clock, logic chips, old 5-1/4″ hard drive, motor to run at a speed that lines up the drive and some electronic knowledge to modify the head mechanism to move in 60 step-per-hour increments to indicate minutes.
If you have these things, you can too get started with work.
Anyway, not exactly practical, as old hard drives may prove too loud for a 24-hour format clock, but can be your personal masterpiece. At least it will solve some electronic garbage problem.
