Hands on with VibesBS NVE-300 earring-style sensational earphones

When it comes to owning a pair of earphones, the foremost thing you look for is comfort and sound quality. But what is often overlooked is the aftermath of excessive use of earphones and the ill-effects its usage has on our hearing ability. Thus, when we learnt of the extreme VibeBS NVE-300, earring-style sensational vibration earphones were coming our way for some hands on treatment; we were excited to see how the earphones would stand out from what we’ve been using all this while.

Cometh the day and the pair of Vibe Bodily Sensation NVE-300 earphones that featured at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair last year were in our hands. In fraction of seconds we’d pealed the packaging and were head-on with the pair of earphones and a charger. Now, the first thing we did was to stick it up our music system via its 3.5 headphone jack to see how the music felt from the pair of earphones that looked sleek and impressive in white color.

Feel the sound...really!

The NVE-300 had to be worn like the earring, in case you haven’t seen a women wear an earring just check the image. Then, the good thing we noticed about the earphone, after switching on the attached powered box, was that instead of transmitting the sound directly into the eardrums, like all the earphones we have used to date do, the VibeBS NVE-300 transmitted sound outside around the ear as a vibration conducted through the skin on the earlobes.

Performance

The NVE-300 courtesy the earring-style is very easy and comfortable to wear without the stiffness and irritation felt with the conventional earphones that block the entire ear hole. The VibeBS earphones certainly amplified the effect of sound and space each time we tried them on to watch a movie, play a game or simply listen to some music. On the performance front, besides the quality sound and comfortable design, the battery backup too has been better than the few vibration earphones we’ve used. The VibeBS NVE-300 lived up to good 10 odd hours on a single charge of about an hour.

The downside

All said and done, the VibeBS NVE-300 sensational earphones have certain felt good for a change. But considering it for a prolonged usage, we’ll not actually recommend. The earring-styled earphones sit comfortably on the earlobes but vibration doesn’t really add to the comfort. In elongated usage, the earphones can be hurting to the ears. The earphones will also not find much appreciation within the audiophiles for the fact that they aren’t really loud with bass, and because they create sound on the outside. The actual purpose of privacy that the earphones are used for is lost completely. The music you’re hearing on the VibeBS NVE-300 can be heard by others around you.

All-in-all an interesting concept to save us from the ill-effects of conventional earphones that would be appreciated by all who crave for hale and hearty ears to loud and ear-tearing music.
