Some of us may have seen this weird then, and an interestingly based (feasible concept) design now. An interesting robotic transportation system by fuRo and Leading Edge Design, the Hallucigenia I, is based on an extinct animal hallucigenia and is different to anything seen with a well based eight independent wheel platform.
The firm wheeled base offers a driver an unprecedented level of control over the vehicle, while giving the vehicle a virtual 360-degree movement, i.e. the vehicle can move in any desired direction without turning. A possible design for an ATV this, Hallucigenia I can ride over terrains as high as it wheels and climb hills up to about 20 degrees of slope. Video demonstration after the jump.
