A computer researcher has hacked the protected binaries of OS X that prevent it from running on non-Apple PCs.

These encrypted binaries are the key to keeping OS X away from Intel hardware. These also protect the OS from being pirated.

A researcher said that this protection was not difficult to hack and it is possible to run the OS on non-Mac hardware.

Even if Apple resorted to hardware-based ROM in Macs then also the protection will not be 100 % as hackers will easily develop ROM-Copying programs.
