Guitar goes touchscreen, is future of the instrument stringless?

Posted By: Bharat BhushanSharma | Jan 19 2010

Jimmy Hendrix, David Gilmour and the likes wouldn’t have imagined a future of their guitars to be without the strings. But, often it turns out to be the way we don’t want things to be, and that’s the case here with the Linux-powered Misa Digital Guitar. Though it’s only the first of the kind and perhaps too early to conclude it as a cult to make into the future, but its light-up touchscreen does make a statement with people like me who never understood how those stings are played (I’m sure there are many out there who share the opinion). For us, the Misa Digital Guitar on the large multifunctional touchscreen has 24 frets which can be interfaced a PC. In case you have doubts with how that works, hit the jump for the video below.
