Priced at a whopping $6,000, the Gresso Luxor World Time mobile phone has the screen and the clock-face decked in Roman figures and the back panel is etched with two 97-carat sapphire crystals. Designed in specially developed titanium alloy and a high-tech ceramics coating, the phone also has planished steel finish with black PVD coating on the front panel.

Masterpiece of high watchmaking craftsmanship

Unique feature of new Gresso phone is six independent Swiss clockwork mechanisms, power reserve of which is 10 years. Watch on the back panel of the phone shows time of the five main world business centres: Tokyo, Moscow, Paris, London and New York. Future owner of the phone sets the sixth time by himself. It can be “home time” or time of any other point of the world.

Gresso engineers were engaged in development of perfect device for 3 years. Phone requirements were extremely high – case thickness was not to exceed 12 mm. Engineering team solved this challenge step by step. Creation of the phone was accompanied by a number of innovations required to put 6 mechanisms into the restricted space. One of the solutions is ultrathin case placing clockwork mechanism. Case thickness is 2 mm.

Nobleness of materials

Screen and clock-face with elegant Roman figures located on the back panel are fringed with two 97-carat sapphire crystals with high-gloss coating. LUXOR WORLD TIME case is produced from ultrastrong and superlight titanium alloy specially developed for GRESSO. It is coated with high-tech ceramics at the closing stage – such coating does not tarnish and discolor with the lapse of time. This material was originally used only in space industry.

One more adoption from the watchmaking industry is a bezel made of planished steel with black PVD coating on the front panel. As for the back panel, there is a decoration from genuine Italian leather.

Innovative phone keyboard deserves special attention as every key is made of sapphire single crystal. The keys polished manually by means of diamond tool evoke pleasant tactile sensations.
