Google & Yahoo phoneGoogle and Yahoo! are all ready to increase their presence in the mobile phone market, and take advantage of the increasingly fast access speeds in the mobile communications industry.

Google is extending its Google Local service to mobile phones. The service will allow the geographic search for local shops and services, and then display results on a map. The service also provides driving directions.

It seems that most modern phones will be able to use of the service, as the only requirements is a web connection and Java support.

Yahoo! is not lagging behind in the race. News is that Yahoo! branded mobile, manufactured by Nokia, will be out in the markets next year. The 1.3megapixel camera and an MP3 player could make it a winner.
