There are a lot of things you can buy if you have a lot of money. Fancy cars, fancy clothes, fancy gadgets. But if you have more than a lot of money, well, you can always buy gold-plated clothes, gold-plated cars, and gold-plated gadgets. It's true. The Sheikhs of the United Arab Emirates sure have a lot of that money going around, which is probably why Gold & Co. has launched an iPad 2 plated with 24-karat gold in Dubai.

The difference between the gold plated iPad 2 and the regular iPad 2 is that the gold-plated one shimmers a lot more. Oh, and it costs a small fortune more as well! The golden tablet is going for approximately $5,000. What's more is that there have already been 6 orders placed for it in the short period that it's been available.
London-based Gold & Co. like putting copious amounts of gold on Apple products, though. They've previously gold-plated iPhones as well as the previous generation of the iPad. A spokesperson did mention, however, that the previous iPad was a lot easier to gold-plate than its successor. If you're in Dubai and want to check it out for yourself, the gold-plated iPad 2 will be on display at the Dubai Women's Exhibition at Jumeirah till Thursday.
