Going back to nature: Power Flower PC concept
Listed as one of the top five finalists at the Design ReGeneration competition, the Power Flower PC concept goes where no other computing device has gone before. Using fuel cells to run its minimal components, the ergonomically designed PC looks much like a regular planter with its CPU based in the pristine white base below which rests a water container to collect droplets left over from the energy generation. The outwards facing leaflets of the plant house Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a face camera with mic and speaker, a motion sensing camera to capture the users’ activity on the desk and a handy projector that can display the monitor image on a nearby wall or surface. By freeing the desktop of energy-sucking peripherals and bulky body, the Power Flower PC concept lets even the most unwilling geek turn into a real planet-saving treehugger overnight!
