It’s a rarity to find a PMP that really clicks to the core. Coming are times when OLED displays will make their presence felt in almost all genres, and maybe then we have something delivered with respect to portable players, which actually gives us a reason to lure. Time’s running faster than our pace, and we have Phillips rolling out a compact PMP, the Spark from the GoGear series. Now, it’s not in fact the one that we’ve have been virtually building up to, but is certainly one that can be reckoned with for a case.
Small is in with portability, therefore Phillips’ GoGear Spark is a miniature device housing a 128×128 resolution 1.46-inch OLED display, which doesn’t display images, but can show JPEG images – though very hard to figure, what of the image can be seen on a screen that small.
Capable of playing WMA and WAV files along with MP3 files, the portable media player comes with a built-in microphone, 27 hours of rechargeable battery life and features digital voice recording. The GoGear Spark is available in 8GB, 4GB and 2GB storage capacity priced as $85, $70, and $56 respectively.
