Chemists at Rice University, Houston are ready to drive you crazy with their one trillion trillion nanoscopic cars. The nanocars are actually miniature four-wheeled vehicles that measures only four billionths of a meter wide. That means if you park 25,000 of them side by side it will turn out to be as thick as a piece of paper.

The breakthrough can be utilized to modify silicon, refurbishing it and creating more-powerful computer chips. The nanocars have real rolling wheels that are powered by static electricity or heat. Researchers are planning to equip nanocars with active propulsion system in future.
