I have envisioned the future, and it’s the Minority report styled interactive displays. We have seen a hell lot of awe-inspiring demonstrations of the interactive multi-touch displays. How about playing with the technology that drives the Apple iPhone’s multitouch display and the Microsoft’s ingenious Surface computer? Nothing can be more interesting than that for the nerds who never miss any news related to interactive displays.
You can exploit the power of the same tech for some hundred bucks only. You can turn your LCD projector into an interactive multi-touch display table using a few cheap materials that are easily available on the shelves. A projector, a modified webcam, a homemade acrylic whiteboard, and some community-made software, and you are able to reform the iPhone commercial at you living place.
It somehow looks like the Jeff Han’s multitouch display. I think we can make a small interactive screen and then attach it to the some big screen for controlling some of the features. It’s cool. I am impressed.
Check out the cool video.
