Computers, laptops and phones, have made life really simple for us. In a pursuit to free us from the entire burden of carrying our laptops like the WiPC, Kopin Corporation has introduced the Golden-I Bluetooth headset with a 15-inch virtual PC display. Connecting to phones, computers and electronic devices via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or cellular ink the Golden-I embeds a natural speech recognition interface, which works for a remote control and lets user access the headset’s features wirelessly.
Running on the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 platform, the headset can remotely control up to seven devices or networks simultaneously. Working as a hub for various devices, with access to hands free information, the Golden-I shows images at a high-resolution of 720 x 480p, and streams videos at 30 frames per second. The main aspect that really drew me into the headset is the fact that the device requires no push-to-talk button, but responds to any user request or conventional user interface, converting it text-to-speech it reads back text in many languages.

Powered by a single 1200 mA/hr li-ion battery that’ll last for about eight hours, the device makes space for a mini USB slot and a Micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB. The Golden-I Bluetooth headset has a potential, therefore the makers are seeking help from industrial organization with through field testing, and if all works as per plans Kopin expects to make the headset available by 2010.
