Google Earth is in for an evolution with cam-equipped flying mini drones purchased by search engine giant Google. German manufacturer Microdrones has delivered the high-tech drone to Google, which the latter would use for up-to-date recordings for the mapping service and to inspecting wind farms etc. The drone with night-vision and/or IR camera can take off for a mission and then land automatically using GPS. The idea from Google seems exciting, but would it only add fuel to the already encountered problems of privacy breach encountered by the street-level mapping service, or would it add to the comfort of the travelers and security agencies? Hit the jump for the mini drone's video demo.
