Gear up to welcome world's first Windows Phone Mango smartphone from Fujitsu

After the Microsoft and Nokia alliance with the former showcasing its latest Windows Phone 7 OS Mango, most speculated that Nokia would be the first company to launch devices on the OS. However, it seems it isn't so as Mango will be making its Windows Phone 7 debut on a Fujitsu handset instead. It's the same handset that caught everybody's attention with its waterproof feature at the Microsoft's Worldwide Partners Conference in Los Angeles, California.

The handset sports a 3.7 inch LCD touchscreen and has already received its certification from FCC as well as Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). It will be launched on the Japanese carrier, KDDI. However, it is still not clear whether the handset will be provided by Fujitsu for the worldwide release.

Apart from being launched on a new handset, Mango will also be rolling out an update this fall for existing users of Windows Phone 7 handsets such as HTC, LG and Samsung. Owing to some of the new features of Mango such as video calling, Microsoft's hardware partners will be releasing some new handsets in September this year.

In a nutshell, we might witness the latest Windows Phone 7 OS Mango sooner than expected. This might leave a bitter taste in the mouth of some Nokia fans who were expecting to see Mango first on Nokia. Nonetheless, there's still time and till then, we can only wait and watch.
