Indeed, the next generation cell phones will not just be doing the calling business; they will or rather are the ultimate dream machines reining our lives, ready to bridge all gaps. Manufacturers too are moving fast to make the best out of the available technology and pump in more power into the portable devices without compromising on design.

Nokia recently exhibited mobile phones of the future designed by students from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Daniel Meyer’s concept phone, which also won the first prize, doubles as a picture frame showing pictures of family and friends. The phone with scrollable touch screen too is fascinating and Kimberly Hu’s multi-sensory design that engages sight, sound, smell and touch too literally bridges the gap between the caller and the receiver.

It clearly shows that the main aim of these future phones is to make you reach out and remain in touch in the real sense.
