
Fujitsu hopes to revolutionize global aircraft maintenance operations with its new 64KB UHF-RFID tag, which is equipped with 64KB FRAM memory — the highest capacity till date.
With high-speed data writing capability and high durability, the tag is precise and ensures rapid management of each aircraft part and supports a variety of radio frequencies due to EPCglobal Class 1 Generation 2 standard, in different region to provide global traceability.
The 64 KB UHF-RFID tag offers state-of-the-art security functions for large volumes of aircraft part and maintenance history data. It works with 860-960 MHz frequency and with 50.8mm x 25.4mm x 6.22 dimensions, it weighs only 13.6 g. However, Fujitsu is planning for still smaller and lighter RFID tags for future. The company plans to make it available in the first quarter of 2008.
