As much as we wish the Fuchiview PEP01 pico projector had lived up to its ‘pico’ name, we are thankful that the gadget is within the range of ‘touch and feel’. Gadget makers, apparently, fail to see a reason in limiting the extent of portability, and this has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The PEP01 is perhaps the smallest projector around, measuring roughly the size of a controller used in bigger versions of its tribe. This essentially means you can carry it around in your pocket. It measures just 115 x 50 x 22mm and weighs around 160g, thus shattering the conventional image of a ‘projector’. Fuchiview has applied the LCOS technology to realize the micro size of this gadget. A Li-ion NP-70 battery ensures that the weight perfectly complements the size of the PEP01.

Fuchitek Corporation’s PEP01 is quite phenomenal in its functionality, which again is a contradiction to its small size. You can connect a laptop or an iPod/MP5 player through a VGA and video cable to realize projection outputs of up to 40 inches and VGA resolution of 640 x 480. Additional features include an NTSC & PAL auto switch, 4:3 aspect ratio, and fanless design. The projector offers image sizes between 6”-50” (13-130cm), with a contrast ratio of 80:1. A pocket dynamo, literally!
