What you need to know about Ford concept E-Bike with built-in Samsung Galaxy II

A simply awesome looking concept e-bike from the house of Ford was at display at the Frankfurt Auto show of 2011. The looks and features of this concept bike are rivaled by no other- the sleek design, carbon belt, front tire motor powered by an electric battery and above all, a Galaxy S II right at the helm of the bike, every feature is incredible. The fact that it is a presentation from the House of Ford can assure you of its high quality and design standards. It imbibes the latest technological advances in the building of every part of this bike, making it perhaps the most advanced bike concept ever. The unique thing about this bike is that it is the first one to initiate a concept of a smart bike or e-bike, by adding a tab to the bike handle. The tab can function normally as a GPS guiding tool for navigation and even be used for the smart handling of the battery and suspensions of this concept bike. For those of you wondering what all new has been incorporated into building this bike, here is a list of some of the major features of the bike.

1. Front wheel electric motor

A powerful electric motor has been designed into the front wheel such that it can provide you ample thrust as and when required (like when you have to move uphill and require extra power to paddle your way up). The battery of the motor is 9.2Ah and has enough in it to assist you for a long time.

2. Top Speed of 25 km per hour

The bike can move with a maximum speed of up to 25km per hour. This of course does not require you to paddle feverishly and lose your breath. The electric motor installed in the front tire assists your paddling and allows the bike to reach the speed of 25 km per hour. This speed can be sustained easily for some time.

3. Google Navigation Assistance

Have you ever lost your way while riding your bike? For those of you who have, it is never a pleasant experience, especially when you have to paddle all the way and reach the correct destination and losing the correct path only increases the amount of effort you have to put in paddling your bike. Now with the help of Google Navigation, you will always know where you are going. The simple GPS feature allows you to even set the path in advance and watch yourself move along it.

4. The 9.2AH battery

The battery powers the front tire motor and allows you to have assistance for your paddling. You can use this battery to assist you in maintaining whatever speed you wish to move your bike at (under 25 km per hour). You can monitor the battery levels from your Samsung Galaxy S II very easily and charge it before it gets depleted fully.

5. Samsung Galaxy S II at the helm

The presence of the Galaxy S II Tab in between the handle bars is a really revolutionary feature. With the usage of customized software, the tab is not only used to serve as a GPS but is also used in many other applications as well. The battery levels are monitored with its help and even the front wheel suspension levels are under the control of the tab. You can change the bike’s speed by adjusting the power levels on the tab and can even make the battery last longer. The Samsung Galaxy S II Tab is what truly justifies the “e” of this concept e-Bike.

6. Carbon belt

The bike does away with the traditional usage of oiled iron chains. This carbon belt is sleeker, stronger and more durable and at the same time less messy. Now you would never have to dirty your hands when the chain slips down while riding the bike. The carbon belt is lighter in weight than the traditional chain and also more flexible than its predecessor.

7. It is a Concept bike

In spite of having all these brilliant features imbibed into making this bike, it perhaps would never be manufactured on a large scale and released into the market, the simple reason being, it’s a concept bike. Take a look at the sleek and super stylish frame of the bike and also the other features that have been discussed. The presence of such advanced features increases the manufacturing costs of the e-bike to such heights that it becomes almost impossible to create an effective manufacturing model for its release in the market. So all you need to do is, wait for other revolutionary concepts to emerge and one day perhaps you may witness one of them see the light of the day.
