Flexible Plastic Sheet to Wirelessly Power Gadgets
Researchers at the University of Tokyo have demonstrated a new way to power our loved gadgets. The device consists of plastic and some flexible electronics that can supply power to any device that comes in contact with the surface.

The whole structure is based on the well known principle of Induction. The problem with the traditional induction systems is that they cannot supply large amounts of power over a large area. But the researchers of this amazing technology commented that this new system will be capable of offering power up to 30 Watts to electronic objects that are placed near them.
The power system consists of two types of sheets one of them senses the position of the gadget and the other one delivers power to the gadget. The position sensing sheet has flexible copper coils having a diameter of 10 mm.
To charge the gadgets they have to be equipped with a coil and special power-harvesting circuitry so that they can store power delivered by the power pad.
The technology is still in its infancy and we can see some betterments being made in the near future.
