How to fix blue screen of death in 5 simple steps

The blue screen of death or BSOD is a common problem to all Microsoft users throughout the globe. It is a preventive measure taken by your operating system to prevent any further damage to your computer. It indicates the occurrence of a serious error in your system for which the computer has to be restarted to run safely. The BSOD happens due to many operational problems in computer using an operating system of Microsoft Corp. Following are 5 different ways for fixing the blue screen of death in your computer:

1. If the BSOD has just occurred after you have updated a program recently, it is sure that this particular update has caused the error. Updating of any program or software includes the replacement of old DLL files (having .dll extension) with new updated ones. This process may have deleted some key DLL files causing this error. In such case, uninstall the program immediately and reinstall a fresh copy of the same.

2. If your system had no issue with a device driver earlier but has crashed recently after you've updated the same, immediately roll back to the older version. It's the new updated version of the driver which is incompatible with the operating system and causing the problem. Rolling back to the older working version of the driver will restore the healthy operating environment of your system eliminating the BSOD. Again, if BSOD occurs just after connecting a new hardware, remove it from your system immediately. This is again because of the incompatibility of the new device/hardware with your operating system.

3. Sometimes the blue screen of death occurs due to a system overload causing the virtual memory of the system to get overridden and crash eventually. The RAM of your computer has got a limited specified speed to handle a fixed number of processes at a time. If the number of ongoing processes exceed that limit, it causes the system to get overloaded resulting in the blue screen of death. Thus, lower the number of processes or applications running at the same time in your computer for it's smooth operation. You can get a track of the number of processes going on in the "processes" tab in the "Task Manager" window.

4. It happens many times that your system has been filled up with invalid and messed registry entries due to the installation of some faulty softwares or some virus attacks. Make use of a good "registry cleaner" software to get rid of such unwanted faulty registries which may give rise to the BSOD. You can easily download one from any free software hosting website on the internet.

5. In case of a serious error, run your system in the "safe mode" and run a full fledged scan of your system with an updated antivirus. Most of the virus or spyware are inactive while your system is in the safe mode. Thus your antivirus will perform more effectively in this state. It will repair or fix any problem with the system files or dll files caused by virus attacks and restore your system to a more stable condition.

The blue screen of death is a very disappointing error occurring in Microsoft systems. Still there is no need to panic. In case the above processes fail to stabilize your system, go for a full format (that will erase all the data) of the drive partition containing the Microsoft Operating System files (Windows files) and reinstall a fresh copy of Windows. This will surely help you in fixing the problem of BSOD.
