Displays are developing rapidly by leaps and bounds to get slimmer by the day and in the near future you might be able to read from an electronic newspaper that is ‘printed’ on a foldable display screen, similar to the Philips-LG newspaper above. Lately a media giant, Hearst Corp, has been funding a start up called FirstPaper to develop the e-newspaper which even uses a colour display version of E-Ink that is being used in the Sony E-reader. This e-reader uses Linux as its operating system which might enable it hit the commercial market at a sub $400 price. If this reader can integrate wireless capability to download newspapers and let users flip pages at a touch, paper newspapers could soon be history as people, atleast in the developed countries, can afford and will most probably prefer the richer content that the Reader will offer. For now, we have a video of a similar product used in the Tom Cruise starrer Minority Report, lined up for you.
