Chinese telecommunications equipment maker Huawei Technologies announces a 7-inch tablet dubbed, MediaPad on Google’s not-yet-announced Android 3.2 Honeycomb. The Huawei tablet on the 7-inch-display-customized Android version is expected to perform better in the market. Huawei MediaPad is built on a solid and unibody chassis almost similar to that of HTC Desire HD Smartphone with the plastic cutouts on the bottom and top.

The tablet comes up with a thickness of almost half an inch and a weight under one pound. A micro-USB port and HDMI-out will make the tablet wealthier. Huawei boasts the movie and music capabilities of its tablet. The device is expected to hit the global markets in Q3 this year. It looks like that Huawei will sell its MediaPad tablet through cellular carriers.
Functionality:Huawei MediaPad will run on a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor, 8GB of internal storage, built-in Wi-Fi, an HSPA+ radio and GPS augment the capability of the tablet from the Chinese company. The tablet will highlight a 5-MP camera in the rear panel and a 1.3-MP front-facing camera for video chatting. Huawei guarantees six-hour battery life for the device.

Huawei did not reveal the price and RAM capacity of MediaPad. Price of the device, the company said would by “sorted with retail partners and providers.” Huawei promises that RAM of MediaPad will work with “partners on specifics.” Moreover, the company missed a Wi-Fi only version for its innovative tablet PC.
