Underwater creatures are a big mystery and every aquatic being is different in some way or the other. The more you explore the more diverse the research gets. Vivid research isn’t a possibility unless we humans succeed in inventing robots that behave just like aquatic beings. Festo has succeeded in developing robot AquaPenguins that do not just behave like submarines but even replicate the way living penguins communicate.
We aren’t yet sure that these robotic penguins have been developed for the purpose we mentioned but even then the evolvement is heartening. These penguins are capable of automated navigation and communication with one another. Video after the jump.
Flexibility is another highlight (it brings into use a fuselage capable of moving in all directions) plus, the fact that 3D Sonar helps the communication and navigation process, these penguins are all but alive.
