While Portsmouth vs. Cardiff might not be the dream FA Cup Final lineup for several, exceptions allowed, the match still promises to be a cracker for several reasons. For one, Umbro’s coveted FA Cup Dynamis football will make its debut appearance. Touted as the most technically advanced ball ever produced, Dynamis is the fruit of over two years of labor. Tested and passed by both scientists and pro footballers from across UK, Dynamis is the future of footballs. Its 20-panel configuration is superior and faster than the 32-panel layering of conventional balls. Its new and improved design is based on reduced curving. Among other innovations is the use of Teijin micro fibre material, allowing for a super soft touch and increased power. The Dynamis also uses the latest Tri-Ply bladder technology that will improve the power and accuracy of any strike (Wonder what goalkeepers have to say about that?).
Initially Umbro has planned 100 balls of Dynamis, which will all be used up in this year’s final itself. Come 2008/09 edition of FA Cup, however, Dynamis will be seen throughout the season. Check out the finals this Saturday to see if Pompey romp home with the prize or The Bluebirds fly high. And do keep an eye out for Dynamis’ performance throughout the match. Maybe it’ll cause some butter fingers!
