Eyes flashing, robot priest ties nuptial knot in Japan

Not even in their wildest dreams would have Satoko Inoue and Tomohiro Shibata imagined that a robot would pronounce them man and wife. Yes, you heard it right, a “robot.” Well, this is exactly what happened at a restaurant in Hibiya Park in central Tokyo, where the “I-Fairy” wearing a flower headpiece directed a rooftop ceremony. Developed by Kokoro Ltd, the priest with colorful, flashing eyes standing some 4-feet tall was remote-controlled by the newlywed’s friend. Coming with 18 degrees of motion in its arms alone, the robot sells for nearly $68,000.
