Though Microsoft hasn't made any official announcement on this one that fits well between the Touch Mouse and Arc Touch Mouse, we get to know that the mouse is equipped with Microsoft's proprietary BlueTrack Technology, which embodies optical technology with laser tracking to allow consumers to work even on granite or carpet with the exception of glass.

There are five customizable buttons on the Explorer Touch Mouse, which will be beneficial for those who are left handed. The mouse has haptic touch scroll pad that is quite similar to Arc Touch and there is a little vibration when in use so you can feel what you are doing. The name of the mouse is speculated to come from Microsoft's nontouch explorer mouse which was similar in shape. As seen in picture, mouse has a compact and sleek design apt for laptop purpose and the price is expected to be somewhere around £69.99.
