Epson’s multi-touch X-Desk, gives Surface a run for the money?
Finally a befitting way for Apple to rejoice, after all the dust Microsoft has blown on its MacBook. They haven’t done it themselves, but it is Epson who’ve announced a new interactive table, the X-Desk which outrightly takes the Microsoft Surface head-on. Based on same Surface ideology, Epson’s mammoth 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor powered 52-inch multi-touch screen has infrared cameras built-in to detect a touch on its display.

The users can play around with the X-desk which supports 1024X768 resolutions, has 3LCD projectors to project those images on the surface, along with a sublime capacity of recognizing 16,000 objects simultaneously, courtesy gesture recognition technology and ‘Smart Tag’. With memory capacities of 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 250GB hard drive, the X-Desk using FireWire, USB ports and Bluetooth can be connected with portable devices and is customizable. Let’s wait for the price and availability details, because this thing seems really interesting. Check out the video of the interactive table after the cut.
